Synesthesia

A motion graphic video of my life in color

Synesthesia is defined as a neurological condition in which stimulation of one sensory or cognitive pathway (for example, hearing) leads to automatic, involuntary experiences in a second sensory or cognitive pathway (such as vision).

Synesthesia is a motion graphic video that displays what my life is like living with condition. Because the neurological experience is extremely unique for each individual who possesses it, the video both informs the viewer of what synesthesia is while also representing how my senses are personally affected. It communicates in a graphic language what my life in color is really like.

While it’s difficult to accurately capture in a visual style exactly what I perceive on a daily basis, I wanted to craft the video through an infographic lens so that the content proves educational. This approach guided the storyboards and overall art direction.
